The phrase 'crunch some numbers' came to me with this week's prompt from IF. I decided to design a t-shirt with wild, child-friendly colors. I was always horrid at math. I want all kids to be better at it than I was. The other angle for this illustration is that it's fun and funky for business, too. A poster in a shop that needs a bit of levity? Maybe so.

ART: we have a cat problem. Catnip intervention needed.

Cat stories:
I know a senile cat who yowls in the middle of the night. He wakes everyone up at 4 am with his disoriented cries for who-knows-what. The cat whisperer, exasperated after several sleepless nights, tried giving him a little catnip before sleepy time. It appears to help! His yowls have diminished.
Medicinal cat pot?

I don't know.
I started thinking about catnip, and though it doesn't have any effect on me,
I still made this goofy t-shirt.

Yesterday I sliced my finger in a clumsy effort at making terrific soup. And my good dog pal cut her paw while on a hike. The soup and hike turned out well. But we are both a bit wimpy today.

This is one of my favs. I waited for this spider to climb to the top of the sego lily. Sego lilies bloom for a short time in Spring. This is a small print. Frames are heavy, though. Free shipping is a deal.


I can't help myself. I like chickens.

I put this collage together, printed on canvas. It was for a large wall in a new home. IK does a nice job.


Looks to me as though the painter let swooping gesso dry then painted her scene on it. I think it works nicely in this piece, adding an energetic feel.

I designed this binder with affection for the fleeting moments I love so much with my family.
An adult friend this week showed me her baby hand and foot prints on a birth certificate. I love the act of 'mark-making', from cave paintings to large canvases to publishing.
And with this book design, I want people to enjoy that ever-so-brief pleasure of rearing their darling kids.
Place any 2 of your favorite photos on front and back, change the text to say what you wish, including the name(s) of your young ones. Twins? Two kids? There are placement holders for each child's image. For extra fun and uniqueness, place your baby's foot and hand in child-safe paint and make a unique stamp impression on the large hand and foot in the design. To secure your prints, carefully spray just the paint area with acid-free acrylic fixative or attach a small sheet of transparent plastic over your hand and foot prints using acid-free tape or glue.
